Legal

So, you’re ready to start your company? Great. But it’s not as easy as opening up shop and taking cash. To legally get started you’ll need two important things:

A legal entity structure and an Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Forming these two things isn’t rocket science, but mistakes can be catastrophic. Do you know the answers to these types of questions:

Are you a member managed or manager managed company?

Are you taxed as an S-Corp or a C-Corp?

What’s the difference between a sole proprietorship and an LLC?

Why does everyone keep mentioning Delaware corporations?

What is the bare minimum legal structure to open a banking account?

Our team has invested in over 100 different startups in the last three years. These types of questions seemed like a foreign language when we started our entrepreneurial career; now it’s more like a coloring book. If you want us to help you with these steps it’s very simple and will generically follow these steps:

1. You chat on the phone for one hour with our lawyer (typically $400 an hour). On the phone he will ask you a bunch of questions to identify the type of structure he recommends you take. At the end of the day, we’ll register you however you want – but it’s at least worth listening to our suggestion.

2. He’ll take the answers to the questions, plus the confirmed entity structure, and register your company in your state (or whatever state is best for the situation). This means you don’t have to log on to the Secretary of State’s website and learn the process. You won’t have to fill out any information or read any forms. We’ll do it all.

3. We’ll email you the completed documentation and login credentials (in-case something needs to be viewed or changed in the future). From there you are officially recognized as a legal entity and can begin building your business.

To order this service, the first step is to start a casual email conversation with someone from our team. So fill out the contact form below and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
